Do not be rude to the helpdesk!

This is the message of the day.

Someone broke this rule and sent in an email full of profanity and venom aimed not only at the person dealing with the enquiry but the entire team.  The gist was that the helpdesks overall service was extremely poor, despite us being restricted by other teams and prehistoric systems.

Needless to say, the venom spitters account was locked until he sent an apology letter.

Its quite sad when people feel the need to be rude to us.  We’ve had everything from emails suggesting how the systems should work to death threats.  Yes, death threats.

Some people take computer failure way too seriously.
